In a bold move aimed at reinvigorating the nation’s security apparatus, President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate retirement of all Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, Advisers, and the Comptroller-General of Customs Service. This decision, which underscores the President’s commitment to ensuring effective leadership and enhanced performance in the security sector, was communicated through a statement released by the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary-General to the Federation, Willie Bassey.

The retirement of the former Service Chiefs paves the way for the appointment of a new team to steer the ship of national security. President Tinubu has handpicked distinguished individuals who possess the requisite expertise, experience, and dedication to tackle the prevailing security challenges facing the nation. These newly appointed leaders are expected to bring fresh perspectives, innovative strategies, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and properties of all Nigerians.

Among the notable appointments is Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who has been appointed as the National Security Adviser. With his wealth of experience in law enforcement and security intelligence, Ribadu is poised to provide strategic guidance and coordination in tackling the complex and evolving security threats facing the nation.

Furthermore, Maj. Gen. C.G Musa has been appointed as the Chief of Defence Staff, assuming the critical role of overseeing the overall defense strategy and operations. His extensive military background and leadership skills position him as a capable and competent leader in this crucial position. In line with the President's commitment to ensuring a balanced and effective leadership structure, Maj. T. A Lagbaja has been appointed as the Chief of Army Staff. Lagbaja's distinguished military career, coupled with his expertise in strategic planning and operational efficiency, makes him well-suited to lead the Nigerian Army in its quest to protect the nation's territorial integrity and maintain peace within its borders.

Similarly, Rear Admirral E. A Ogalla has assumed the position of Chief of Naval Staff, entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding Nigeria's maritime interests and securing its vast coastlines. With his extensive knowledge of naval operations and commitment to excellence, Ogalla is poised to lead the Nigerian Navy to new heights. Completing the lineup of new service chiefs is AVM H.B Abubakar, who has been appointed as the Chief of Air Staff. Abubakar's exceptional track record in aviation and his deep understanding of air defense systems position him as the ideal leader to enhance the Nigerian Air Force's capabilities and ensure its readiness to tackle emerging security threats.

In addition to the service chiefs, President Tinubo has also made key appointments within the Presidential Villa and other strategle positions. These appointments Include Maj. Isa Farouk Audu as the Commanding Officer of State House Artillery, Capt. Kazeem Olalekan Sunmonu as the Second-in-Command of State House Artillery, Maj. Kamara Koyejo Hamzat as the Commanding Officer of State House Military Intelligence, Maj. TS Adeola as the Commanding Officer of State House Armament, and Lt. A. Aminu as the Second-in-Command of State House Armament. Furthermore, the President has approved the appointments of Hadiza Hala Usman as the Special Adviser for Policy Coordination, Hannatu Musa Musawa as the Special Adviser for Culture and Entertainment Economy, Sen. Abdullahi Abubakar Gumel as the Senior Special Assistant for National Assembly Matters (Senate), and Hon. (Harr) Olarewaju Kunle Ibrahim as the Senior Special Assistant for National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives)

The President's commitment to a well-rounded leadership team is further demonstrated by the appointment of Adeniyi Bashir Adewale as the Acting Comptroller General of Customs. With his extensive knowledge of customs operations and commitment to efficiency, Adewale is poised to enhance revenue generation and strengthen the country's custom service.
